Rob has always been thrilled by advertising and was lucky enough to join a local design and print company at the age of 16 (having decided a move to Cumbria with his family was not one of his career goals). At 19, he was poached by their largest client, Blitz, a then subsidiary of Holmes and Marchant. After spending two years there, Rob felt he could deliver a much more effective marketing and advertising service and founded Hunterlodge Advertising in 1987.

Rob has significantly grown the company over the years and is rated as Platinum by the IPA sharing the enviable position with only 24 other agencies across the UK. We are also hugely proud to be the only integrated agency to hold 11 back-to-back IPA Golds. He sits as Co-Chair on the IPA’s Professional Development Group leading the industry in helping set and achieve its new vision – to turn advertising into a profession over the next ten years.  Rob was also granted an IPA Fellowship in April 2016.

Rob’s obsession for effectiveness has kept him on track to make Hunterlodge the most effective agency in the UK by 2024.  This has been possible by ensuring all his team share his unquenchable thirst for knowledge, ensuring even his most knowledgeable and highly skilled people are pushed to unique levels of excellence. The company has a simple purpose – to make effective advertising accessible to all clients.

Kim started his career as a Geologist and worked his way around the world searching for riches, until he found it in the most obscure place – the world of advertising. Having been at Hunterlodge Advertising for over 20 years and a member of the Board, his strengths lie in insight generation and strategic planning.

He’s overseen an impressive portfolio of campaigns for a wide range of public and private sector clients including Higher Education Institutes, the NHS, NFL, Mercedes Benz, Trevor Sorbie and Cats Protection. He believes that the success of these campaigns is due to the right combination of customer insight, understanding of media touch points, careful management of channels to market and commitment to Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Martin’s story has been likened to Billy Elliott (without the dancing) having come down from the frozen wastes of the North East. He originally planned to only stay a year and get some ‘London experience’, fortunately he decided to stay and settle with his family in the centre of the universe – Rickmansworth!

His creative journey started as a junior visualiser at BMP before moving to WWAV Rapp Collins , BHWG and Proximity London where he developed his creative and managerial skills. He has worked across global brands in the automotive, charity, B2B and FMCG sectors. The plethora of global brands he has worked on is way too long (and laborious ) to list here but the biggest mailing he’s ever produced was sent to over 9 million Nectar members to launch their new brand  – thankfully with no typos!

Martin’s passion for advertising echoes his passion for his beloved Newcastle United being described by a client as “definitely more Shearer than Asprilla”.

He will however admit (reluctantly) he’s been far more successful than the ‘Toon’ of late, producing some highly successful multi-media campaigns and picking up the odd bit of silverware over the years. But don’t remind him about  ‘The Player Who Most Runs Like A Girl”  award from The Advertising Softball League.
